The Art of Living

I came across this interesting funny video. Thanks to my friend Hemant Rathore.

I would not want to speak much on this. Just watch it…

On this independence day – wish we get freedom from craving, greed and other so many issues.

Disclaimer – I have done Art of Living Courses and have been associated with the Art of Living for close to 10 years (as of Aug 2014)

Nicely produced. Effective. Techniques of ‘Art of Living’ look good. Somehow, I get thrown off when I see ‘Art of Living’ shops selling as many medicines as a local pharmacy. Too much commercialisation, of late. Also, the founder, Mr Ravi Shankar using a double title ‘Sri Sri’ doesn’t behove a spiritual man. Makes it all look phony when actually it is not.

So, have you been happy these ten years and are you now happy? Have you got self confidence? Have you got good health? Are your relationships in good order?

I delayed doing this course for 1.5 years, I met Guruji in 2003 and did the course in End 2004. In 2003 there was not so much of crowd around him so I could be so near to him, yet I felt – “my Guru” will have time for me, I could any time speak with him, share my opinions, ask questions and could meet him whenever I want. So, I decided not to pursue AoL in 2003 (Hemant Rathore is a friends from those days). My sister forced me to do that course in 2004. The reason was more spiritual than of the other reasons shared above.

I believe AoL’s marketing in this fashion is for easy dissemination of information, with maximum impact. You know I have problems with Lingayats (irrespective of me following AoL). Self Confidence, Good health were not an issue wit him. Happiness is more of a mind business – http://business2buddha.com/2011/09/03/dichotomy-on-happiness/

Just to share – http://business2buddha.com/2014/01/21/eating-for-the-sake-of-eating/ the example of what changed in me (at least during the course) is in the blog.
